This workgroup is in charge of supporting those lines of work in R+D related with the Galician agricultural livestock sector, as well as possibilities of exploiting uncultivated land related to the food sector.
This is a broad spectrum workgroup, clearly encouraging collaboration with other existing Ptgal workgroups and at one time with other platforms such as the Galician Platform on the Environment, Biotechnology, Wood, Forestry...
Created in order to gain the participation of the following subsectors:

Agriculture: annual plants (feed, legumes, vegetables, ornamental plants), perennial plants (fruit trees, vineyards), pathology, treatments and others.

Livestock: zootechnology, pathology, reproduction, genetic improvements...

Harvesting and using wild foods: extensive game, mushrooms and truffles, aromatic plants, fruit, etc.
The lines of action and priorities are defined among all the members, focusing the work of the group on those areas of greatest demand and possibility of generating cooperative projects.
The goals intended to be reached are the following:

Define the areas of most important work within the primary sector in Galicia.

Define and obtain the participation of the actual agents within the system, both with regard to the mature subsectors as well as the emerging subsectors, within and outside the Platform.

Participation of the agents in the public workgroup.

Definition of projects.

Food, production and handling systems to improve the quality, productivity, stability, and nutritional and functional characteristics of agriculture, aquaculture, and livestock production and products.
